The Turtle Bay Museum-Redding. Well we didn't see any turtles, or a bay, but we did have a great time at this museum while dad was in his watercourse crossings workshop in Redding on our way to visit grammy and papa in SoCal.

They had great art, fountains and sculptures all around and tons of fun exibits like an authentic native american "bark house" with fur mats and digital stories you could choose with buttons.

There were tons of little paths and fun displays. There were raptors in cages and a large play area where the kids got to be osprey in a nest. They also got to see logging/milling/mining demonstrations and play on lots of them.

There were cool live fish as well as models of stream channels and bottoms. There was also a wonderful garden/plant walk on the other side of the bridge, but unfortunately we saved it for last and the boys were shot.

Nolan took this picture of Caleb in my arms after he fell asleep. We excavated a block for 'dinosaur bones' that we got from a friend for birthdays. We only got one bone before the boys lost patience, but hopefully we'll get the rest out of there little by little!
