A few spring photos

Caleb put on his little gardening gloves and hardhat all by himself the other afternoon while playing outside and got the little watering can to water the plants. He looked like such a big boy!

I was also so proud of how well he was staying in the lines while painting his favorite Backyardagan coloring book.
Nolan was a bit more abstract this day. He's usually very meticulous. He explained what this was to me, something about fire of course, but I can't remember the rest.

Nolan also decided to rearrange his bulletin board in the space room to put up some new pictures, but I left him to do it alone as requested and he stepped on the push pins he'd put on the floor. The board looked nice though.

In an attempt to make baths more fun I've been spiking and sculpting hair. He always has to get out and look in the mirror. We'll have to grow it a little longer to do more things. I may call him my little Sanjaya. =)

Happy Easter!

We had fun getting ready for Easter. Nolan climbed up into the storage shed with me and got down the Easter decorations. He was really excited about coloring eggs and even ate some for a few days.

The boys were even more excited about the plastic eggs and the baskets they got from Grammy since they had toys and candy.

We went to Nolan's preschool teachers church where her husband is the pastor. Caleb's teacher Miss Kari was there too. They had an easter egg hunt in the grass before the service.

Nolan has shown an interest in skating lately so we got him his own little board and pads. He did better the day we didn't have the camera of course. But I've included a video from our dropshots website.

Enjoy!

shelving shots. i promised dad i'd let him see how the shelves he built worked out after moving in. so far things are great. i've been able to start sorting through all of our junk and get rid of some and easily find spots for the rest. i'm sure this isn't the final place for everything but it's working for now and the tidyness is helping the boys remember to put their stuff away when they're done playing with it.

i had to show some of my other favorites we've had put in like the recycling bin cabinet, spice rack, wine rack, knife strip etc and we're starting to put our little knick knacks(dustcollectors) on the walls and shelves too.

This is Caleb being sad in the kitchen during craft time
After he took a black crayon to the wall when I wasn't looking!
Some random shots...

Grandpa came to visit and help us get ready to move in. The boys loved seeing him.
They also loved moving in and using their brand new bath tub.
I got to throw a baby shower for my friend Amie and had to take a picture by the rhodis which are starting to bloom.
We haven't really settled in much but it was just enough to be able to have visitors!
This is a photo of Osoberry, which is a shrub that grows abundantly in Fieldbrook but I don't see it anywhere else in the county really.
Here are a few more photos of our recent activities.

I've been able to work more lately and I have to have a camera with me in the field so I can take photos for my reports. I've taken a few shots to show you the pretty things I've been seeing too. A a small creek with flowers just starting to come out, rare fawn lily about to bloom, a trillium in full bloom and a red tail hawk hunting overhead. I've also seen lots of ticks and spiders (on me), an old pot garden, and lots of brush to crawl through, but overall it's been really fun.

I think it was in March that it snowed at our house. The boys ran out in their PJs when they saw it. It was just a couple of inches but so rare for down here it was exciting. Here are the dogs showing their enthusiasm. I've been trying to identify birds more and have loved the black-capped chickadees and varied thrushes in the yard.

Grandpa came to visit and brought the old Seaswirl for us to use. We took it out in the bay and my dad showed us how to run it and get it in and out. Nolan had a good time helping us drive. The tide got too low so we had to cut our trip short, but it was a great time.
Well I'm finally getting around to updating the blog. Things have been a little crazy since the move but it is finally settling down and I have a lot to catch up on. Here's a little recap on the last couple of months.

The boys have been really into pirates lately so I got an unfinished chest from Michaels and it became our pirate treasure chest. We loaded it up with fake jewels and I sprayed coins gold and we hide it around the yard and make maps and go for treasure hunts.

For my 30th birthday in early March we went to southern California and visited Loren's family. Loren rented a convertible mustang for us to celebrate in. We went out for a fun dinner and got to stay by ourselves in our own hotel.

Grammy bought the boys some fun pirate stuff at Disneyland and they've been having a fun time dressing up. They even have a bandana and hook.

Loren and I enjoyed the rides at Disneyland just as much as the kids and got to go alone on Space Mountain the Matterhorn and lots of others. Nolan was a little freaked out by a lot of the rides, but enjoyed this spaceship ride with dad.

We had some blue drinks that turned out tongues blue.

We also had a little party for me, complete with cake and candles.

I had to put as many photos of me up as I could since I actually got someone to take some of me.

Papa got a chance to wear his goofy hat. There's cousin Kailey and aunt Elsa too.

Kailey and Caleb had a great time splashing in the bath. Nolan wanted to bathe by himself and I don't blame him.

The kids had a great time just running around in Disneyland.
